Set up three shallow dishes: seasoned flour in the first, beaten egg in the second, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with salt, garlic powder, and paprika in the third. Dredge each tender through flour, egg, then panko, pressing firmly so the coating adheres.
Panko breadcrumbs produce a much crunchier result than regular breadcrumbs. Spray the coated tenders generously with cooking spray or avocado oil spray on both sides before they go into the air fryer — this is what creates the golden, fried-looking crust.
Use the breaded chicken tenders (homemade panko) preparation. Set the air fryer to 390°F (200°C); the starting range is 12–15 minutes. Turn or shake at about 7 minutes as appropriate for the food.
