Place frozen fish fillets in a single layer in the basket. Air fry at 400°F (205°C) for 12–15 minutes, flipping once at the halfway mark. Thicker fillets may need 15–18 minutes. The breading should be deeply golden and the fish should flake easily when tested with a fork.
Check the internal temperature with a thermometer — it must reach 145°F (63°C). Insert the probe at the thickest part of the fillet, avoiding the breading. If the exterior is browning too fast, reduce heat to 380°F and extend the time slightly.
Plain frozen fish fillets (no breading) can also be air fried. Season with oil, salt, and spices. Air fry at 390°F for 10–14 minutes from frozen, checking temperature at 10 minutes.
Serve with tartar sauce, coleslaw, and lemon wedges for a fish-and-chips style meal. Also excellent in fish tacos with shredded cabbage, avocado, and chipotle crema.
