Quick Answer
Toss fresh green beans with a drizzle of oil and seasoning, then air fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, shaking once. They come out blistered and slightly crispy at the tips — a huge upgrade over steamed green beans with almost no effort.
Wash and thoroughly dry the beans, then snap or cut off the stem ends. Dry beans crisp better — any residual water steams them instead of roasting. Fresh green beans give the best result; frozen beans will work but may release extra moisture and cook unevenly.
One teaspoon of oil per 8 oz of beans is plenty. Simple salt and pepper is classic, but garlic powder, red pepper flakes, or a squeeze of lemon after cooking are all excellent additions. Toss directly in the basket or a bowl to coat evenly.
Cook at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. For extra-crispy, borderline charred tips — which many people love — push to 10–12 minutes. Watch closely in the last 2 minutes as thin beans can go from perfect to burnt quickly.
These make an excellent side dish alongside air-fried salmon, chicken breast, or steak. Finish with a sprinkle of parmesan and lemon zest for a restaurant-quality vegetable side in under 15 minutes.
