Air fry brownies at 325°F for 18–22 minutes in a silicone pan or lined cake pan until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter). Lower temperature than baking prevents the top from burning before the center sets.
A 6-inch silicone baking pan or a metal pan lined with foil works best. Avoid glass — it heats unevenly in air fryers. Grease the pan and line with parchment paper or foil for easy removal. Silicone pans need no lining but take slightly longer to heat.
Pour batter into the prepared pan, filling no more than 2/3 full. Air fry at 325°F (163°C) for 18–22 minutes. Begin testing at 18 minutes with a toothpick — it should come out with a few moist crumbs, not clean. Clean toothpick means overbaked.
The proximity of the heating element in air fryers can brown the top quickly. If the top is getting dark before the center is set, lay a piece of foil loosely over the pan for the remaining time. Do not press the foil down onto the batter.
Let brownies cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing. Cutting too soon causes them to fall apart. For clean slices, refrigerate for 30 minutes after cooling — cold brownies cut much more cleanly than warm ones.
