Use an appliance-compatible dish for cracked or whisked eggs and follow the model manual. Use the hard-boiled — fully set yolk preparation. Set the air fryer to 250°F (120°C); the starting range is 15–17 minutes. Check at the lower end and continue as needed; thickness, load and the appliance affect the actual time. Cook whole eggs until white and yolk are firm; egg dishes must reach 160°F (71°C).
The ice bath is mandatory, not optional. Immediately plunging the hot eggs into ice water stops the cooking and causes the egg whites to pull away from the shell, making peeling dramatically easier. Leave in the ice bath for at least 5 minutes. Peel under cold running water for the easiest experience.
The air fryer circulates hot air evenly around each egg, essentially baking them. This method eliminates the need for a pot of boiling water and produces very easy-to-peel eggs because the heat comes from all sides simultaneously. No green ring forms on the yolk as long as you do not overcook.
Air-fried hard-boiled eggs are ideal for deviled eggs, egg salad, sliced on toast, or as a protein-packed snack. They peel so cleanly that they look better than many stovetop-boiled eggs. Store unpeeled in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
